The Ascent tells the extraordinary true story of bilateral amputee climber of Mandy Horvath. After a night out with friends in Nebraska, Mandy blacked out and was left for dead on a set of train tracks. She was struck by a freight train and lost both of her legs. Mandy overcame unimaginable tragedy and setbacks to rebuild her confidence, but everyone in her life doubted she could achieve “the impossible dream” of summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro… by crawling on her hands.
